Harry Kane marked his record-equalling 125th England appearance with a brace as Thomas Tuchel’s side cruised to a 3-0 Nations League victory over the Czech Republic at Wembley on Tuesday night.
The captain drew level with former goalkeeper Peter Shilton as England’s most-capped men’s player and took his international goal tally to 91.
Kane is already his country’s record goalscorer and needs nine more to reach a century.
England took the lead after 27 minutes when Kane drove a cross into the Czech penalty area.
Defender Vladimir Coufal, formerly of West Ham, stretched to intercept but diverted the ball into his own net.
The moment was a landmark one for Kane, but he soon had a goal of his own.
Five minutes before half-time, Morgan Rogers delivered a first-time ball across the six-yard box and the England captain arrived to finish from close range.
Kane struck again 12 minutes into the second half, rising at the far post to head home Lewis Hall’s corner and put the result beyond doubt. It was his 91st goal in 125 England appearances.
The Bayern Munich striker was given a standing ovation when Tuchel replaced him with Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the closing minutes.
His Wembley milestone came more than 11 years after his England debut, when he scored shortly after coming on against Lithuania.

Shilton’s record of 125 appearances had stood since 1990.
Kane’s achievement puts the pair level at the top of the men’s list, with the England captain now positioned to set a new mark when he next features.
The victory continued a strong run for Tuchel’s side, who had already beaten the Czech Republic in Prague and thrashed Croatia 7-0.
England controlled the contest at Wembley and added another convincing result to their Nations League campaign.

Kane’s brace also continued his remarkable scoring form for his country.
He had taken his total to 89 with goals against Croatia before the Czech Republic match, and now sits nine goals away from becoming the first England player to score 100 times for the men’s team.
The result means England have nine points from their four Nations League outings this autumn.
Spain still sit top of the group, however, with the world champions winning three and drawing one of their own four fixtures.
