A two-seater training aircraft made an emergency landing in an agricultural field near Kalaburagi airport on Tuesday evening after a suspected technical snag, police said.
The pilot and trainee co-pilot on board are safe, and no injuries were reported.
The aircraft belonged to a private training academy based in the airport area and was on a routine training flight when the problem developed, according to police.
The crew brought the aircraft down safely in a field at Pala village, a senior police officer said. Police personnel and airport officials rushed to the spot after the landing.
