Adelaide weather forecast for Saturday October 3rd and the days ahead

Adelaide is in for a cool and changeable week, with a few light showers around the weekend and early next week before sunnier, warmer conditions return by midweek. For locals, it’s a fairly gentle run of spring weather overall, but there are a couple of wetter patches to watch and a much brighter finish on the way.

Today will stay partly cloudy across Adelaide, with a medium chance of a shower, most likely this morning, before things settle later in the day. Southerly winds will keep things feeling cool, with the city heading for a top of 19 degrees, while Mount Barker is forecast to stay chillier at 16. Sunday brings a similar feel, with partly cloudy skies and a slight chance of an evening shower. Light winds will turn easterly for a time, and the temperature will edge up only slightly, with a low of 11 and a top of 20.

Monday looks like one of the calmer days in the forecast, with cloud expected to clear and light winds for much of the day. Adelaide’s top will again sit around 20 degrees, keeping temperatures below the usual spring mark. Tuesday brings the next noticeable change, with a medium chance of morning showers and winds shifting from northwest to southwesterly, then southeasterly by evening. It won’t be a washout, but it could be a good idea to keep the umbrella handy early, with up to 1 mm possible and a top of 20 degrees.

From there, the city gets a much more inviting run. Wednesday is forecast to be sunny and crisp, starting from a cool 8 degrees before reaching 22. Thursday looks like the standout day of the week, with full sunshine and a much warmer top of 27 degrees under northeasterly winds. Friday then turns cloudier, with showers becoming likely and a possible 2 to 15 mm on the cards. After the midweek warm-up, the temperature will ease back to 23 degrees as gustier winds return through the day.

Across regional South Australia, the broader pattern is still leaning cool, with maximum temperatures below average through much of the forecast period. Isolated showers in the southeast on Saturday are expected to clear by evening, while the far west could see showers and thunderstorms develop. On Sunday, that shower and storm activity is forecast to extend into central parts of the state, before conditions turn mostly dry on Monday apart from a slight chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm in the far north. By Tuesday, showers are expected about the agricultural areas before clearing during the day. Rainfall totals are generally expected to stay modest, with 2 to 10 mm for most districts, though the northwest could see 10 to 20 mm, with isolated falls of up to 40 mm.

There are also a few coastal and farming warnings in place worth noting. Adelaide Metropolitan Waters are expected to stay relatively manageable through the next few days, though southerly winds today will keep conditions choppy at times, especially north of Brighton. Further southeast, stronger coastal conditions remain a concern.

Happy Saturday!
