Target launches on Uber Eats with 25,000 products delivered in under an hour

Australians can now order everything from a last-minute outfit to toys, homewares and baby essentials through Uber Eats, with Target becoming the first fashion retailer in Australia to join the platform.

The new partnership gives customers access to more than 25,000 Target products across fashion, beauty, homewares, toys, baby and everyday essentials, with delivery expected within 60 minutes.

The service will initially roll out across 20 Target stores before expanding to additional participating locations as part of a broader national rollout in the new year.

The launch arrives ahead of the busy Christmas shopping period and is pitched as another option for those occasions when customers need something quickly, whether that is a birthday present, kids’ essentials, event dressing or something for the home.

Bernard Wilson, Chief Customer Officer Kmart and Target, said changing shopping habits were behind the move.

“Customers are looking for more ease and flexibility than ever before, and our focus is on building an online offer that works around them, whether they’re planning ahead or need something quickly.”

He said the partnership builds on Target’s century-long history of serving Australian shoppers while giving customers another way to access the retailer’s range.

“Whether it’s a last-minute birthday present, something for the home or an everyday essential, this partnership gives customers another convenient way to access Target’s great style, quality and value.”

Target products ordered through Uber Eats will be priced the same as they are in-store, although service and delivery fees will apply. Orders will be picked and fulfilled through participating Target stores.

Uber Eats Australia and New Zealand Managing Director Lucas Groeneveld said adding Target introduces a new retail category to the delivery platform.

“Customers increasingly expect to be able to get what they need without planning days ahead,” he said.

“Bringing Target onto Uber Eats means more of those everyday needs can arrive at their door in under an hour, making on-demand delivery useful for even more moments in their day.”

The partnership follows Target’s broader push into digital retail, with its apparel already available through Target’s website and Kmart’s digital ecosystem.
