Police present two men from Tamil Nadu, arrested on charges of transporting red sanders logs, near Seethampeta village in Veeraballi mandal of Kadapa district on Monday.

Police officials have arrested two persons on charges of smuggling red sanders in the forest area near Seethampeta village in Veeraballi mandal of Kadapa district on Monday (September 28, 2026). Eleven red sandalwood logs, a four-wheeler and three mobile phones were seized from them.
Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Sundupalli Circle Inspector Suresh Reddy and Veeraballi Sub-Inspector Sushmitha was conducting special surveillance against the smuggling of red sandalwood and other illegal activities, the police said.

The team found two labourers allegedly transporting red sandalwood logs illegally in the forest area. A case was registered against the accused. They were produced before the court and remanded in custody.
The police warned that strict legal action would be taken against those involved in the smuggling of red sandalwood and the illegal transport of forest resources. They urged the public to immediately inform them about any suspicious activities in forest areas.
District Superintendent of Police Shelke Nachiket Vishwanath commended the team for arresting the two and seizing the red sandalwood logs.
