Newcastle Jets captain Cassidy Davis will be skippering the side once again this coming Ninja A-League campaign after putting pen-to-paper on a new deal with the club.
Davis, who made her Jets debut in 2013, has made 185 appearances for Newcastle and currently sits third all-time for appearances in the A-League Women’s competition.
The veteran defender said she was proud to continue her record-breaking association with the club.

“It’s always an honour to represent this Club and the Newcastle community, and I’m incredibly proud to be re-signing with the Jets.
“I’m really excited to get started with this new-look squad, build something special together and push for finals football.
“There’s a lot to look forward to, and I can’t wait to get going.”
Davis will once again captain the Jets under head coach Stephen Hoyle, who said her experience and leadership would remain important to the squad.

“Cass has given a lot to this club and continues to set a fantastic example through the way she competes and leads the group,” Hoyle said.
“She understands what it means to represent Newcastle, brings enormous experience to our environment and has been an important voice in helping us establish the standards we want within the team.
“We’re delighted to have our captain continuing with us this season.”
Davis will now lead the side in their season opener against Perth Glory, with the 2026/27 Ninja A-League season getting underway on Saturday, October 17.
