The alleged victim of a GP charged with sexually assaulting a patient in his medical clinic says he is traumatised and furious the doctor can technically still practise.
Dr Sophara Roath, 56, allegedly used his position of power to prey on a sick patient.

“I completely just froze like, in my head, I’m thinking ‘this is not happening’,” the alleged victim told 7NEWS.
The man saw the GP inside Our Medical in Loganholme, southeast of Brisbane, in May for a rectal examination, and alleges he was molested inside the clinic.
“I just wanted to get out of there so as soon as he stopped hugging me, I just left,” the alleged victim said.
The claim was immediately reported to police.

The GP, who moved from Cambodia, has practised in Australia for more than a decade. Sexual health is among his areas of special interest, according to an online profile.
Police formally charged him last week.
Despite facing rape, sexual assault and common assault allegations, neither the Queensland or national regulator have slapped any restrictions on his medical licence, and he is technically still free to practise.
“It should be set up to protect patients but they protect doctors, and they’re too slow to act and they’re a basket case,” patient advocate Beryl Crosby told 7NEWS.

The health ombudsman said practitioners facing “immediate action” can make a submission to the them before a final decision is made.
The medical centre where Roath works has not confirmed whether the accused predator is still employed.
He still features on the clinic’s website but you cannot book an appointment with him.
The doctor chose not to comment when questions were put to him by 7NEWS.
The accused was given police bail and will appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court
