Khushi Kapoor’s paranda braid and Kriti Sanon’s kohl-lined were the stars of this week’s festive beauty looks

With the festive season in full bloom, this week’s beauty looks leaned into traditional beauty, whether it was for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations or events. Hair was styled with traditioanl accessories, as seen on Khushi Kapoor or adorned with gajras, as worn by Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon. Shanaya Kapoor took a new approach to hair embellishments with ghungroos in her hair, while Tamannaah Bhatia added a playful detail with white henna. From traditional hair embellishments to softer makeup, here are some beauty looks to keep on your radar this festive season.

A romantic approach was taken by Aditi Rao Hydari with her hair left long with brushed-out, loose curls. The base was fresh and naturally radiant, with a peachy-rose flush adding warmth to the face and bringing dimension to the complexion. The eyes were painted with warm brown and bronze tones across the crease and outer corners, matching the colours of her outfit, while a subtly lined lash line added a soft dramatic effect. A touch of festive sheen was added to the high points of the face, highlighting them and providing a radiant finish. A natural rosy-nude lip pulled the whole look together.

Sleek glamour was the brief for Khushi Kapoor’s look. Her hair was styled in a sleek braid with a traditional golden paranda woven in, leaving the details of her sari blouse visible. Her base had a smooth, luminous finish. The eyes were diffused with a deep warm brown before a bronzy metallic eyeshadow was packed onto the lids, creating a soft smokey effect. A defined black liner on the upper lash line and soft smokey shadow along the lower lash line, finished with kohl, beautifully defined the almond shape of her eyes. Highlighter caught the cheekbones and bridge of the nose, adding dimension against the deeper red and gold palette. A warm peach blush brought a subtle flush to the face, along with a warm nude pink lipstick.

A playful addition to the festive season came through in Tamannaah Bhatia’s softer makeup look, which complemented her bright yellow sari. Her hair was left open in natural soft waves that framed her face. The complexion was kept light and fresh with a healthy, skin-like glow, while soft neutral tones were used lightly across the lids to give the eyes a bright and open look rather than a smokey effect. Pink blush was added to the cheeks and nose for a youthful flush. The nails were kept long and painted in a pink ombre that complemented the white henna on her hands, while a glossy pink lip completed the look.

For a classic festive look, Kareena Kapoor Khan turned to statement eyes with a traditional, old-school feel. Her hair was tied into a sleek low bun and styled with a gajra that complemented her pink floral sari. Warm taupe eyeshadow was blended across the outer corners and crease, with deeper brown shades creating a soft smokey effect across the lids and lower lash line. Black kohl on both lash lines gave the eyes a smokey liner effect, enhancing their natural shape and colour. A cool-toned pink blush was added to the cheeks, while a soft peachy nude lipstick kept the look balanced.

Kriti Sanon embraced a traditional look, with shimmering eyeshadow taking centre stage. Her satin finish makeup base acted as a canvas for the gold details, while a soft coral blush added warmth to the cheeks. The eyes were painted in warm beige and golden shimmer, diffused across the lids and crease, with deep kohl along both lash lines adding definition. A warm pink lip with a soft matte finish balanced the rest of the makeup, while her hair was styled away from the face into a sleek, middle-parted bun finished with a gajra.
