The Boston Red Sox have lost their series against the Texas Rangers recording only three hits tonight.
After a two-run home run from Willson Contreras in the first inning, Boston went silent at the plate the rest of the game.
Jake Bennett allowed three runs in his start, going 4.2 innings on the mound. Bennett allowed RBI base hits to Jake Burger and Justin Foscue in the first and fourth innings which tied the game early on.
Boston found luck with its third run, as Caleb Durbin scored on a balk from Jacob Junis in the fifth inning, but Greg Weissert let up Texas’s third run on weak single from Wyatt Langord.
In the seventh inning, Erik Miller allowed his most runs in a Boston uniform, as the Rangers collected three runs to take a commanding lead.
Nathan Eovaldi came out of the bullpen for Texas, and the for Red Sox starter limited his former team to just one hit through four innings to pick up the victory.
Boston will wrap up its series in Texas tomorrow at 8:05 p.m.
