An Australian woman who died when she fell from the cliffs above a popular Indonesian beach has been identified by police.
Brianna Lani Cronin, 29, fell from the southern cliff face on Kelingking Beach in Nusa Penida, an island east of Bali, on Saturday morning.

A lifeguard had been alerted to the Queensland woman stranded on the cliff face, but he was still arranging additional support when Cronin fell from the cliff to the shoreline below.
The Queensland woman was declared dead when Nusa Penida Sector Police and the Nusa Penida Search and Rescue teams found her.
Cronin’s body was transported to Griya Penida Medikal Clinic in Banjar Nyuh where authorities reported the young woman had suffered arm and leg fractures, and lacerations.
She had been staying at a hostel on the island’s north coast, about 45-minute drive away from Kelingking Beach.
The hour-long hike down to Kelingking Beach from the cliffs above is often described as perilous, though it is unclear if Cronin was on the main path at the time of her fall.

A 182m elevator to improve access to the beach was under development for 18-months, before Bali Governor Wayan Koster pulled the plug on the controversial project by Chinese developer China Kaishi Group in November last year.
The giant glass elevator was heavily criticised and eventually canned over its negative environmental impact, and for blocking the globally recognisable view. The project was officially backtracked over environmental and permit violations.
The demolition of the partially completed works was expected to take six months, and local leaders stressed the need to do so carefully to avoid damaging the cliff.

Cronin’s fall remains under investigation.
It was expected that her body would be transported to another hospital, before further arrangements are made the the Australian Embassy.
“The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is providing consular assistance to the family of an Australian who died in Bali,” a DFAT spokesperson told 7NEWS.com.au.
“We send our deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time.
“Owing to our privacy obligations we are unable to provide further comment. The family have requested privacy at this difficult time.”
