After nearly three decades at SBS, Anton Enus has delivered his final bulletin for SBS World News, signing off from the network after 27 years.
Enus’ retirement was confirmed back in July, bringing an end to a remarkable career that has seen him become one of the most familiar faces on SBS, presenting World News and covering some of the biggest stories from Australia and around the world.
On Friday night, Enus used his final moments on air to thank viewers for allowing him into their homes throughout his career.
“All that’s left for me to say is a huge thank you for inviting me into your lives through SBS World News.”

Reflecting on the years and decades he had spent behind the news desk, Enus described his time at SBS as both a privilege and a joy.
“It’s been not only a great honour but just so enjoyable to share these years and decades with you, and all of you, through the many highlights and hairstyles.”

But Enus also used his final sign-off to make a pointed comment about the current news environment, urging viewers to continue seeking out reliable journalism.
“At a time of manufactured distrust and wilful misinformation I hope that you will continue to watch SBS as a source of reliable news, I know I will.”
He then delivered the final words of his 27-year run on SBS World News.
“And that’s the world this Friday, from me it’s goodbye and from all of us here, goodnight.”
For the closer, Enus was joined on set by his colleagues, including Ricardo Gonçalves, Janice Petersen and Breanna Holden, along with members of the behind-the-scenes team.
Enus’ departure marks the end of one of the longest-serving presenting careers in Australian television news, after 27 years with SBS.
