An 18-year-old Class 11 student returning home from school was allegedly kidnapped in an SUV vehicle by a senior student in a case of one-sided love.
The accused planned the kidnapping in advance and arranged a Bolero before taking the girl to the forest, where he kept her overnight with his associates.
The incident took place as the student was returning home from school. According to the police, Biriya Oraon, a senior student from the same school, approached her with four other youths and forced her into the Bolero.
Two of the girl’s friends were with her when she was kidnapped. They informed her family about the incident, following which her family contacted the police and reported the matter.
After receiving the information, police launched an immediate search. Police rescued the student safely from the Arangi forest at around 4 am.
The family then filed a written complaint at the police station, following which police registered a case and arrested Biriya Oraon, the alleged main accused. Based on his disclosure, police arrested four other youths involved in the incident from their homes.
Police also seized the Bolero used in the kidnapping.
The arrested accused have been identified as Biriya Oraon, Munna Oraon, Birendra Oraon, Rajesh Oraon and Ashish Lohra.
Police official Neeraj Kumar said the case had been registered, and the main accused had been arrested and sent behind bars. He said the accused and the student were from the same school and assured that those responsible would not be spared and would be sent behind bars.
