Brisbane Roar have signed Philippines captain Hali Long ahead of the upcoming Ninja A-League season.
Long, 31, is the most-capped player in Philippines women’s football history with 106 international appearances.
The Missouri-born defender started every match of the Philippines’ historic run at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where they faced Switzerland, New Zealand and Norway.

She reached her 100th international cap at the 2025 SEA Games, becoming just the second player in Philippines history to reach the milestone.
A centre-back by trade, Long began her club career with the Little Rock Trojans before moving to Kaya FC-Iloilo, where she spent six seasons and captained the side.
“I’m excited to take on a new challenge in a new country and ready to push myself while helping the team reach its goals this year,” Long said after signing her new contract.
“I can’t wait to meet the girls and get started!”
She also spent time on loan with Thai club BGC-College of Asian Scholars for continental competition.

Long will bring significant international experience and leadership to Johnathan Clemente’s Roar squad.
“Hali is a genuine, proper defender. She loves to tackle and head the ball in all circumstances and she’ll no doubt put her body on the line for Brisbane,” Clemente said.
“A leader and legend of Philippines football as captain with 106 international caps.”
Long becomes Brisbane Roar’s seventh signing of the off-season following on from the acquisitions of the likes of Adelaide United legend Isabel Hodgson and fellow Philippines international Katrina Guillou.
Meanwhile Abby Smothers, Natalie Tathem, Annabel Martin and Murphy Agnew have all joined Clemente’s new-look side for the upcoming campaign.
Clemente’s Roar side open their 2026/27 Ninja A-League campaign at home to Central Coast Mariners on Saturday, October 17 at Spencer Park.
