Delhi Police have arrested a fourth accused in connection with the tragic collapse of the ‘Hostel Days’ paying guest accommodation in Delhi’s Satya Niketan. The arrested individual, identified as PG operator Sudhanshu, was running the hostel under a lease agreement along with his business partner Shubham Tyagi, who remains absconding. Police investigations revealed that the building, constructed in 1990 without pillar support, had been leased out by the property owners’ son Mahesh for a monthly rent. Despite its dilapidated condition, unauthorized basement excavation and modifications were carried out during the monsoon season. Sudhanshu was apprehended following interrogations with the owners, and Delhi Police are seeking extended custody to probe permit violations, operational lapses, and administrative oversights by civic authorities.
