I’m older than my dogs.
But I know they will pass me soon,
as they inevitably age faster than me.
However, until then,
I’ll let them take the lead
on our walks along the trails.
Hoping their high steps and keen senses
stay with them as long as possible
so I can feel the assurance of their joy.
