The senior actor is quite a vocal Pakistani celebrity who often appears in the television and digital shows and podcasts and expresses his opinion on wide range of topics.

Recently, Mohsin Gillani appeared on The Blue Truth, a digital podcast hosted by Abdul Hayee Siddiqui. In the podcast, he opened up about the reasons behind the decline of the Pakistani drama industry.

Talking about it, Mohsin Gillani said, “Listen, the film industry declined because of the distributors and financers. In dramas, marketing people became the reason for the decline. They demanded that work be given to models and popular figures. Drama artists in Pakistan go through a certain process step by step, and marketing specialists prefer models or popular figures over them. You remember fashion magazines with bold photos; they were sellable. Now Instagram has taken over magazines. The drama makers sign people because of their popularity. If a celebrity is seen by millions, he will be given work and they will be least interested in what he is offering. I was coming to Rajab Butt’s topic. People like him are getting work because of marketing pressure. You have artists who have reached a certain spot after hard work, but marketing takes the decision, where real performers suffer. Social media is making minds rebel. People are becoming rebellious through the dramas and social media. It is harming our younger generation” Watch here.
