Adelaide’s most-listened-to radio station revealed after biggest audience result in decades

Adelaide’s latest radio ratings have landed, with Triple M securing its spot at number one while SAFM also recorded growth across several key parts of the day.

Triple M has been named Adelaide’s number one station in the latest survey, securing a 14.3% share and increasing its audience by 15,000, giving them a grand total of 341,000 listeners.

The result is particularly significant for the station, marking Triple M Adelaide’s highest cumulative audience among listeners aged 10 and over since SCA records began in Survey 1, 2004. The station also retained the top position across several major time slots.

Roo, Ditts & Loz remained Adelaide’s number one Breakfast show with a 15.2% share, up 0.4% from the previous survey. It continues an extraordinary run for the longstanding breakfast team, which has now topped the Adelaide market in 27 of the past 28 surveys. Triple M also remained number one in Mornings with a 15.2% share and Afternoons with 15.3%.

In Drive, The Rush Hour with JB & Billy took the top spot with a 13.9% share and an audience of 108,000 listeners. The program also remained number one among men aged 25 to 54 for the 10th consecutive survey, with an 18.5% share.

SCA Head of Broadcast Content Matthew O’Reilly said the results reflected the network’s main focus.

“The common thread is consistency: great talent, strong local content and teams who know their audiences.”

Meanwhile, SAFM recorded a 9.8% overall share, increasing slightly on the previous survey.

Bel, Bernie & Emma G also grew in Breakfast, reaching an 8.7% share and adding 4,000 listeners to bring their audience to 149,000. SAFM’s strongest gains came later in the day, with Mornings rising 0.9% to a 10.7% share and Afternoons jumping 1.3 points to 11.8%.

Its Morning audience reached 160,000 listeners, while Afternoons increased by 6,000 to 128,000.

Carrie & Tommy recorded a 10.8% share in Drive.

The latest survey continues Triple M’s sustained run at the top of Adelaide radio, while SAFM’s gains suggest the competition remains far from settled.
