A 55-year-old man has been found dead on a vacant property in Newcastle, with detectives releasing CCTV as they work to piece together his final movements.
Shane Ryan’s body was discovered on Lake Road at Elermore Vale about 12.30pm on Wednesday, August 19, after police were called to reports a body had been found.
Detectives from Newcastle City Police District have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr Ryan’s death under Strike Force Draven.

Police have now released CCTV showing Mr Ryan at a hotel in Singleton on Friday, July 31, as they appeal to anyone who may have seen or spoken to him in the weeks before his death.

At the time, Mr Ryan was wearing a distinctive Holden HSV Racing jacket, blue jeans and brown boots.
He was described as being of Caucasian appearance, of medium build and about 170cm tall, with a grey goatee beard, bald head and green eyes.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have seen or had contact with Mr Ryan in recent weeks, or who may have information about his whereabouts, to come forward.
