For some celebrities, their acting gigs come with million-dollar pay cheques that set them up for life.
But that’s not the case for all actors.
Many celebrities have spoken openly about how their TV and movie jobs have not been enough to sustain their careers financially, forcing them to turn to alternative income streams.

One emerging avenue is OnlyFans, which has become a particularly popular option for public figures looking to monetise their existing fanbases.
The online platform allows users to subscribe to individuals for content that is typically adult in nature.
However, creators can also use it to share behind-the-scenes material, fitness content, exclusive photos and videos and personal updates.
Which celebrities are on OnlyFans?
Harry Potter star Jessie Cave
Harry Potter star Jessie Cave recently revealed she has already made more money on OnlyFans than she did in her nearly two-decade career as an actress.
The mum-of-four, best known for her role as Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter film franchise, shared in an August interview she earned £15,000 ($A22,000) in one day after she launched the account in 2025.
“I’ve earned more, easily, than my entire acting career within one year,” she told The Times.

The 39-year-old specified her OnlyFans account is not for sexually explicit content and instead focused on videos of her brushing and showing off her long hair.
After joining OnlyFans, Cave, who also appeared in Call The Midwife and Black Mirror, wrote on Substack that she felt a “sense of shame” at first.
But the money she’s made from her hair-brushing videos has “saved” her life.

“I thought I’d make five grand, be on it for a few months and it would buy me time to work out what we’re going to do,” Cave said.
“But it’s now been over a year and a half, and it’s genuinely saved our lives.”
Australia rapper Iggy Azalea
Rapper Iggy Azalea joined OnlyFans in 2023, two years after she retired from music.
The Australian musician became one of the platform’s top creators, charging users $US25 a month to access her content.
On her page, fans viewed exclusive photos, videos, illustrations, poetry and music.

In an interview with ABC News in the US, Azalea said: “I was the top for that year. I barely, honestly, didn’t have to do much.”
While it was previously reported Azalea earned $US48 million from her time on OnlyFans, she clarified the alleged amount was not accurate.
“It’s not $48 million. That’s not the exact number, but it’s a life-changing number,” she claimed.
“It’s a little lower. It was great for me because I was able to take all that money and use it to seed out ideas I had about businesses that I wanted to build.”
Azalea shut down her OnlyFans page in 2024 and has since moved on to other projects.
She is the co-founder of the wireless provider Unreal Mobile and launched her own cryptocurrency called $MOTHER.
American actress Denise Richards
Actress Denise Richards, who was previously married to actor Charlie Sheen, joined OnlyFans in June 2022.
She initially created her page to support her daughter, Sami Sheen, to push back against the online criticism before revealing it had become a “lucrative” endeavour for her.

“At first, I didn’t understand what OnlyFans was,” Denise previously told People magazine.
“When I saw that she (Sami Sheen) was getting backlash for owning her sexuality and doing what she wanted to do, it upset me as a mum and also as a woman in business.”
While Richards didn’t disclose how much she has cashed in since joining, she did confirm that “it’s quite lucrative”.
British singer Lily Allen
In June 2024, British singer Lily Allen announced she was “dipping her toes” into the OnlyFans scene.
The 39-year-old told the Miss Me? podcast she’d thought about starting an OnlyFans because her pedicurist said Allen had a 5-star rating on WikiFeet — a user-generated site where people post and rate pictures of celebrity feet.

Within a few days of joining the platform, Allen posted a handful of feet pics with funny captions like “La Dolce Feeta”.
She previously described running an OnlyFans page as being less demanding than going on tour, but also more lucrative than the royalties she gets from Spotify.
In 2025, Allen revealed she shut down her account because it “wasn’t that fun anymore” following her split from Stranger Things star David Harbour.

“It’s not really that interesting. I started it just over a year ago,” Allen said in 2025.
“I was quite active in the beginning but, when I broke up with David, it just wasn’t that fun anymore.”
