Perth Glory have confirmed that captain Adam Taggart is leaving the club to pursue a move overseas.
The 33-year-old came back for a third stint at his hometown club in 2023, going on to become the all-time leading goalscorer in Glory’s A-League history.
Alongside winning or sharing the club’s Golden Boot in each of the past four seasons, he was also named Men’s MGP Award winner twice.
Ahead of his exit, Taggart shared his gratitude for the club and its fans.

“I want to start with thanking everyone at Perth Glory FC,” he said.
“All of the Members, players and staff who have been there throughout the last few years mean a lot to me.
“I believe it’s well understood how much I love this place, but after mutually agreeing with the club, we both agree it’s the right time to move on.
“I am looking forward to seeing some young boys step up and supporting from afar.
“I leave grateful for the incredible support and wish nothing but the best to you all.”
Football Director Stan Lazaridis was equally quick to recognise Taggart’s impact and status at the club.
“This move represents a fantastic opportunity for Adam at this stage of his career,” he said.
“With a big offer having been tabled for him personally and in the light of the outstanding service that he has given Perth Glory both on and off the pitch, it would have been wrong for us as a club to stand in his way.
“Contrary to some of the inaccurate reports that appeared overnight, this is very much a mutual and amicable parting of the ways.
“Taggs is Glory through and through and will always be a legend at this club.
“On behalf of the whole Perth Glory family, I’d like to thank him for his contribution to the club and wish him all the very best for this move.”
