Set against the scenic shores of Taj Fisherman’s Cove Resort & Spa, Raksha Kalyanaraman and Peyton McElroy’s wedding brought together Tamil traditions and global influences in a celebration that felt deeply personal. Thoughtfully planned & designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Wishing Well Weddings & Events, every event embraced a distinct aesthetic while reflecting the couple’s story, creating an immersive experience for guests who had travelled from around the world.
Reflecting on the celebration, Heer Rajani and Prerna Asrani of Wishing Well Weddings & Events share, “Raksha and Peyton wanted every celebration to feel authentic while offering their international guests a meaningful glimpse into India’s rich culture and traditions. Each event was designed with its own unique identity, allowing guests to experience a beautiful balance of heritage, elegance, and heartfelt celebration.”
The festivities began with a vibrant Mehendi that transformed the venue into a lively ‘Genda Phool Fiesta’. Envisioned by Raksha’s parents as an introduction to India’s colourful traditions for their international guests, the celebration came alive with Jaipuri block prints, gota detailing, and cheerful marigold accents. Interactive experiences, including bangle making and potli making stations, encouraged guests to engage with local craftsmanship, while the vivid décor created a warm, festive atmosphere filled with colour, music, and laughter.
For the Sangeet, titled ‘Opus of Love’, the mood shifted to one of refined grandeur. Rich deep blue drapery framed the space, while statement chandeliers cast a warm glow over ornate décor and delicate floral arrangements. The regal setting provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of energetic performances, heartfelt moments, and celebrations that continued well into the night.
The wedding ceremony, aptly named ‘Temple Tales’, honoured Raksha’s Tamil roots with understated elegance and spiritual beauty. Designed to evoke the sanctity of a traditional temple, the mandap featured cascading white orchids, soft pink blooms, brass accents, and intricate details that reflected timeless heritage. Serene yet striking, the setting beautifully celebrated the union of two cultures, creating a deeply meaningful space where tradition and love came together effortlessly.
