National Security Advisor Ajit Doval will travel to Beijing for high-level boundary talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The visit comes ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s scheduled visit to India for the BRICS Summit in mid-September. As India’s special representative for boundary talks, Doval will engage in discussions to maintain peace and tranquility along the Line of Actual Control following post-Galwan border developments. The meeting follows a recent Working Mechanism for Coordination and Communication meeting, with both nations adopting a sectoral approach to minimize differences and resolve long-standing border issues.
