Sydney FC have completed the re-signing of Panama international Riley Cohn for the 2026/27 Ninja A-League season, bringing last season’s Golden Boot winner back to the Sky Blues.
Cohn, formerly known as Riley Tanner, returns after a breakout campaign in Sydney in which she topped the club’s scoring charts and established herself as one of the competition’s most dangerous attacking players.
The American-born winger scored a number of important goals throughout the season, including a double against Melbourne Victory in a late-season win.

Cohn, who married in June, had initially been expected to depart Sydney this off-season before a change in circumstances made her available again.
Head Coach James Slaveski moved quickly to secure her return.
“When we became aware Riley’s circumstances had changed and there was an opportunity for her to return, I had absolutely no hesitation in making her an offer,” Slaveski said.
“We know exactly the quality Riley possesses and we saw that consistently last season.
“She is a player who can make things happen in the final third. She can create opportunities, beat players and score goals.

“I enjoyed last season immensely. I loved being part of the club, playing with the girls and representing Sydney FC, so when the opportunity came up to return it was something I was really excited about.
“On a personal level I was pleased to contribute with goals last season, but as a team we know we want to achieve much more this year.
“We have a really talented squad and I’m coming back hungry to help us have a much more successful campaign and challenge for trophies.”
Cohn in action last season
Cohn’s return gives Slaveski another proven attacking option as Sydney continue to reshape their squad ahead of the new season.
The Sky Blues have already added American forward Faith Webber, while Indiana Dos Santos and Maddie Caspers are set to return after long-term injuries.
Nat Tobin and Charlotte McLean have also returned to the club as Sydney look to build on last season and push towards the top end of the Ninja A-League Women ladder.
With Cohn back in the fold, Sydney will have last season’s leading goalscorer available as they look to turn her individual success into a stronger team campaign in 2026/27.
The Sky Blues kick off their 2026/27 Ninja A-League campaign against Adelaide United on Sunday, October 18.
