The heartbroken fiancé of a young mother killed in a horrific tow truck incident has revealed how he desperately tried to save her after finding her unresponsive at a Perth towing yard.
Evette Wallington, a 29-year-old tow truck driver, was found by her fiancé and colleague Cameron Christmass at Auto Tow Services in Osborne Park about 5.40am on Tuesday.
Wallington was reportedly trapped while unloading a car from a tilt tray truck at the yard near Sundercombe St and Collingwood St the night before.

Despite efforts from emergency services, the mother-of-three could not be saved.
Christmass said he used his own truck to free his fiancée after finding her before emergency services arrived.
A colleague of the couple recalled hearing Christmass “literally screaming for help” over their work radio that morning.

“From his broken cries, we slowly figured out what went down,” the colleague said.
“Our colleague Evette, who’s also his partner, had an accident at our company’s Osborne Park yard.”
Christmass later shared a heartbreaking tribute to his fiancée, saying words could not describe his pain.
“RIP to my amazing girl Evette,” he wrote on social media.
“I tried so hard to save you when I found you this [Tuesday] morning. But unfortunately you had already gained your wings.
“I will always love you and cherish the memories we made together.
“Forever in my heart baby. This isn’t a goodbye but until we meet again my love.”
Christmass has since launched a GoFundMe to support Wallington’s family through what he described as an unimaginably difficult time.
He described her death as a “freak accident” and remembered Wallington as a hardworking woman and devoted mother to her three daughters.
“She will forever be missed and loved by many,” he wrote.
Tributes have poured in for Wallington from devastated family members, friends and colleagues.
One colleague remembered her as a dedicated worker.
“Evette was such a dedicated and responsible person,” they wrote.
“In line of work, we’re always on the go, day and night. She’d sometimes be out on the road as early as 4am.”
Another tribute remembered Wallington through the different stages of her life, from primary school to becoming a mother.
“Watching you grow up from primary school to high school, to celebrating your 18th & 21st Birthday to becoming A Mother, you are a beautiful human being and you are going to be sadly missed,” the person wrote.
Auto Tow Services described Wallington as a “much-loved” member of its team.
“This is a tragic loss for our team, she was much-loved here, and our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones,” the company said in a statement.
WorkSafe has confirmed an investigation into the circumstances of Wallington’s death is underway.
