Brisbane Roar confirm departures of five first team players

Brisbane Roar have confirmed the departures of five players from their Ninja A-League Women squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Kiera Meyers, Aimee Medwin, Alicia Woods, Marianna Seidl and Ashlyn Miller will all leave the club following the Roar’s third-place finish in 2025/26 and subsequent Semi-Final exit.

Meyers and Medwin joined Brisbane ahead of the 2025/26 campaign and featured regularly as the Roar finished third on the Ninja A-League Women ladder.

Seidl joined Brisbane from Czech champions SK Slavia Praha and featured in both defence and midfield during the campaign. She has since joined Spanish Liga F club SD Eibar.

Miller arrived from the University of Texas and was one of Brisbane’s most consistent performers, starting the majority of the Roar’s matches.

The American scored her first Ninja A-League Women goal against Wellington Phoenix in January and has since signed with Brooklyn FC in the United States, where she will link up with former Roar Head Coach Alex Smith.

Woods departs after three seasons with Brisbane, having joined the club as a Queensland junior.

She signed a scholarship deal during the 2023/24 campaign after making the move from NPL Queensland side Peninsula Power, where she had previously played under Smith.

Woods made her Ninja A-League Women debut against Western United in Round 16 of that season before establishing herself as a regular in the Roar midfield and becoming a fan favourite among Brisbane supporters.

Brisbane have indicated further squad announcements will follow in the coming weeks as the club builds towards the 2026/27 season.
