If you follow Philadelphia sports — the name of Lynam isn’t just familiar in this city — it’s legend. Sixty five years after future 76ers Executive and Head Coach Jimmy Lynam helped propel the St. Joseph’s Hawks to the NCAA Final Four — another Lynam is preparing to have an impact on another Philadelphia basketball program.

Thirteen years after LaSalle’s last NCAA Tournament appearance — Guard Jamison Lynam has signed with LaSalle’s Program — which was 9–23 last season.

The grandson of Philadelphia basketball legend Jimmy Lynam — a star at West Catholic High School and an integral member of the 1961 St. Joseph’s University Final Four team — also played in the NBA, including as the General Manager and Head Coach of the 76ers from 1987 to 1994.

But Jamison Lynam doesn’t need any of that recognition. One afternoon or evening, seeing his play, one cannot help but recognize the talent. At Archadia — Lynam averaged 14.0 points per game and 3.4 assists at one point — including an impressive 23-point game against York College in November 2024. In a game against King’s College — Lynam would score nineteen points.

LaSalle Basketball returns to the floor with the goal of competing in the 2027 NCAA Tournament this season.
