Teenage golf star Jessica Bang has died at the age of 18 after suffering a brain haemorrhage.
Bang was in preparation for a tournament in Thailand when she collapsed on August 1.
The 18-year-old was rushed to hospital in Bangkok, undergoing emergency brain surgery.
Bang died on Thursday after being in intensive care for nearly two weeks.
The WPGA Tour of Australasia paid tribute to Bang, describing her as an “outstanding young talent”.
It wrote in a statement: “The thoughts and prayers of everyone at the WPGA Tour of Australasia and the broader Australian golf community are with Jessica’s family, friends and all those who knew and loved her at this incredibly difficult time.”
Bang’s cousins have set up a GoFundMe to cover the 18-year-old’s medical bills, which has already raised nearly $50,000AUD (£26,100).
The 18-year-old’s cousins, Summer and Amelia, released a message before Bang’s death saying she was an up-and-coming star in golf.

They wrote: “Our names are Summer and Amelia, and we are trying to raise funds for our 18-year-old cousin Jessica Bang, who has suffered a devastating brain haemorrhage while preparing for a golf tournament in Bangkok, Thailand.
“Jessica is an aspiring athlete who has recently qualified to start her rookie season in the WPGA/KLPGA. She has won the Ford NSW Regional Championship, which was held in Moss Vale, NSW, Australia, in February 2026, and has shown a promising future in golf and has earned the nickname ‘Rookie Bang’.
“On August 1, 2026, Jessica suddenly collapsed and was transported to Synphat Ramintra Hospital in Bangkok where she underwent emergency brain surgery…
“Every donation made will be contributed to her overwhelming medical bills and repatriation back home which will need to be on a special plane with built in ICU equipment. Following the announcement of her death, the cousins wrote: “We would like to thank everyone for your overwhelming support and well-wishes.
“Sadly, Jessica passed away this morning, August 13, 2026, at Synphaet Ramintra Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand.
“We are truly heartbroken by this news. However, we would like to continue to remember Jessica and celebrate her achievements, passion, and dedication to golf.
“As her cousins, we will forever cherish the time and memories we shared with Jessica.
