Kristopher Ambrozewicz, 35, has served as a youth soccer referee and a referee assigner for the North Quabbin United Soccer Club, prosecutors said.
An Athol man who has served as a youth soccer referee was charged with possession of child sexual abuse materials Wednesday, federal prosecutors said.
Kristopher Ambrozewicz, 35, is charged with one count of possession of child pornography, the office of U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts Leah Foley said in a press release.
During a search of his home on Wednesday, a review of his cell phone revealed several videos of child sexual abuse material, according to prosecutors. Several electronics, including laptops and hard drives, were seized for further review, Foley’s office said.
Ambrozewicz reportedly told law enforcement officials that he has served as a youth soccer referee and a referee assigner for the North Quabbin United Soccer Club. He also stated that he sees both adolescent and adult patients at his part-time job at the Center for Human Development Outpatient Behavioral Health Services in Orange, officials said.
The charge of child pornography possession provides a sentence of up to 20 years in prison and between five years to a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of $250,000.
Ambrozewicz is set to be arraigned in Worcester Federal Court on Thursday, Foley’s office said.
