One Nation rise under the spotlight in NEWS24 political special

News24 is turning the spotlight on the battle for Australia’s conservative vote with a new political special hosted by Chris Kenny.

Featuring interviews with One Nation Leader Pauline Hanson, Liberal Leader Angus Taylor and Nationals Leader Matt Canavan, The Fight for the Right explores the contest for conservative voters, alongside conversations with Australians across the country about what’s influencing where they cast their ballots.

Kenny travels from Griffith and South Australia’s Hammond electorate to inner Melbourne, meeting voters who have shifted their political allegiances while examining the issues driving those decisions.

The special arrives just weeks after Sky News Australia rebranded as News24, with the broadcaster framing the documentary against a backdrop of continued electoral setbacks for the Liberal Party and Nationals, alongside One Nation’s recent polling gains and by election success ahead of this year’s Victorian election.

Editorial Director and host Chris Kenny said meeting voters who have switched to One Nation, alongside questioning the leaders of the three parties, offered insight into the changing political landscape and the future of the conservative vote.

“Viewers will be surprised by some of their answers and insights as we probe why the right of centre vote has fractured, how the Coalition will survive, and where the rise of One Nation will lead us.”

The Fight for the Right premieres Tuesday 25 August at 7.00pm AEST on News24 via Foxtel, and will also stream through the News24 website and News24 Australia app.
