In an informal poll, more than 850 readers weighed in and chose Harwich as the best town on the Cape.
The Lower Cape town has nearly 11 miles of tidal shoreline that stretches along the Nantucket Sound and Pleasant Bay, seven villages, and more than 20 beaches.
“We have a little bit of everything,” Emily Mitchell, the town clerk, told Boston.com. “We have the culture, we have the history, we have the beaches, we have the conservation areas, we have the plays and the community centers. It’s a good place for people of all ages with every type of interest.”
