Maulana Tariq Jamil is one of Pakistan’s renowned and influential Islamic scholars and public speakers, widely recognized for his gentle preaching style. A Punjab-born celebrity, Maulana Tariq Jamil initially pursued pre-medical studies at King Edward Medical College before turning toward Tabligh.
Recently, Maulana Tariq Jamil was interviewed by Dr. Affan Qaiser for his YouTube channel. During the podcast, Maulana Tariq Jamil discussed how the growing trend of women not cooking for their families at home is unhealthy.
Replying to Dr. Affan Qaiser’s question regarding women not cooking at home, Maulana Tariq Jamil said, “If it is the case that modern women have stopped cooking, then it is a very unnatural thing. In 1998, I visited the USA, and a doctor showed me statistics from North America indicating that people had spent one trillion dollars on antidepressants in one year. That was back in 1998; imagine the situation today. This happens when we start eating unnatural and artificial food. Artificial food affects your natural behavior. If people rely on fast food, it can cause mood swings, increase anger, and reduce patience. The relationship between husband and wife can suffer, and their fights may increase. After eating such an unhealthy diet, men can lose their energy, health, and vitality. Why are there advertisements on every wall in Pakistan offering men ways to increase their sexual ability? Eat desi ghee, avoid junk food, eat desi food, and stop using cooking oil. We are lucky to have desi ghee at homes”
He further added, “So, if the stoves at home have been turned off, it is a direct invitation to diseases and this trend has been giving a good business to doctors. Bakery item and breads are so unhealthy and dangerous”.
