Disney+ confirms third and final season of THE ARTFUL DODGER

The Artful Dodger isn’t hanging up its scalpel just yet, with Disney+ confirming the hit Disney+ Original will return for one last adventure.

After two successful seasons and a growing international audience, the Australian produced Disney+ and Hulu Original has officially been renewed for a third and final season, promising bigger heists, more twists and plenty of the cheeky charm that has made it Disney+’s most watched Australian Original title to date.

Disney+ Australian premium scripted Hulu Original series The Artful Dodger has been greenlit for a third and final season. The high-octane Season 3 will be packed with more grit, bigger heists and bolder hijinks when it premieres on Disney+. The season will also debut on Hulu in the U.S.  

The renewal comes off the back of The Artful Dodger’s local and international success as the most viewed Australian Original title for Disney+ to date, with Season 2 currently nominated for Best Scripted Comedy Program in the 66th TV WEEK Logie Awards. 

The all-star cast, which includes Thomas Brodie-Sangster (The Queen’s GambitWolf Hall), David Thewlis (LandscapersAvatar: Fire and Ash) and Maia Mitchell (Good TroubleNever Goin’ Back), are returning in their respective roles as Dr. Jack Dawkins, Norbet Fagin and Lady Belle Fox. 

Sony Pictures Television’s Curio Pictures’ Jo Porter and Rachel Gardner return as Executive Producers/Producers with Chris Martin-Jones (A Place to Call HomeHome and Away) as Series Producer. Ben Young (The TwelveClickbait) and Ben C. Lucas (The SurvivorsHigh Country) return as Directors. 

Multi-award-winner and BAFTA nominee, Andrew Knight (Hacksaw RidgeJack IrishRake), will return to lead the scripting as Executive Producer, alongside Dan Knight (Irreverent) as Script Producer, who has written across all three seasons. Andrew Knight was also the first season’s Co-Script Lead and Co-Executive Producer.

Filming on Season 3 will take place in Sydney, Australia and start in the coming months.

Seasons 1 and 2 of The Artful Dodger are now streaming on Disney+ globally and on Hulu in the U.S. The series was co-created by James McNamara, David Maher and David Taylor.

A premiere date for the third and final season is yet to be announced, with filming set to begin in Sydney in the coming months.
