Luckily for us, there are plenty of great options of where to go for a bevvy or two in Adelaide and we’ve compiled a list of all the hottest new spots that have opened in the past 12 months.
Whether you’re up for a couple of post-work drinks, a quiet catch-up, or a big night out, this is our guide to the best new bars in town.
Poster Boy Bar

Located on Gilbert Place, Poster Boy Bar may be the new spot where Friday night drinks turn into, “Let’s hit the dance floor.” The new multi-level bar offers city views, cocktails, music on vinyl and midnight conversations.
Poster Boy was created around the idea that the best nights are often the ones that are not planned. They are the nights that begin with “just one drink” before unexpectedly turning into something much bigger.

Le Mistral
Say bonjour to Rundle Street’s newest addition, Le Mistral – a warm, intimate venue that’s shaping up to be the perfect place for a mid-week knock-off or cosy date night that’ll have you seeing la vie en rose.
Brought to Adelaide by owners Matthieu Mioche and Christopher Richards, Le Mistral is all about bringing the French traditions they grew up with to our streets.

Sensory House
Adelaide Central Market’s newest multi-sensory space is on a mission to change the way we think about tasting, shopping, and even slowing down, taking customers on a journey of scent, taste and feeling.
Sensory House is a tightly curated stall that combines a cellar door with a bottle shop, apothecary and an intimate eight-seat cocktail bar. But calling it a stall barely does it justice.

Bar Sofia
Bar Sofia has officially opened its doors to the rowdy crowd of Adelaide’s weekend nightlife, bringing a new ‘try your luck’ experience to Hutt Street.
The new kid on the block comes from the team behind Sofia Bistro, which sits conveniently right alongside Bar Sofia.

Ritual
If you wander just a block back from the Kingscote waterfront, past the local chemist and the soft hum of a suburban block, the salt air carries the scent of something unexpected. Here sits Ritual, an intimate new wine and dining bar operating out of a reimagined 1950s residence. Once a Lions Club and originally a horse stable, this lovingly renovated sanctuary intentionally defies the modern rush, inviting you to drop anchor and simply exist.

When and Where
Hindley Streets newest upstair bar is bringing the Adelaide nightlife scene more cocktails, DJs and Asian-inspired flavours that we’re already craving.
When and where is a question that we love to hear during the weekly planning of a great night out, and they’ve been answered in the form of a moody, late night cocktail bar. The bar, When and Where, has been years in the making for owners Annie Tran and her husband who are part of the team behind the long-running favourite, Gondola Gondola.

Moo Bar
Everyone loves a moody wine bar you can only find if you know it’s there and once you do it’s a secret too good to keep to yourself.
While some may recognise the name Moo Bar, the North Terrace venue now looks very different. After being closed for months, the team behind Moorooroo Park Vineyards has relaunched its city wine bar and reinvented the space, food offering and overall atmosphere.

Antidote Wine Bar
Clare’s culinary scene is about to welcome a fresh new addition, with the much-anticipated Antidote Wine Bar opening its doors this June. Designed as a relaxed yet refined space, this new wine bar experience is the newest addition to Antidote Kitchen and embraces the thoughtful design, menus, and eclectic array of drinks and fusion-inspired bites that Antidote is already known for.

Wonderland
Walking into Hotel Panorama’s newest rooftop bar, is how we imagine Alice felt falling into Wonderland.
Except instead of going down the rabbit hole, the wonderland express takes you up four storeys to a twinkling, golden bar with eccentric elements spread into the interior.

Kutumba Lounge
Kutumba Bar and Lounge has officially opened in Unley, bringing locals an authentic slice of Nepal right to their doorstep.
Located along King William Road, the new venue marks an Adelaide expansion for the team behind Canberra favourite Party Time Nepal.

Eccomi
With an aim to “capture that local Italian neighbourhood bar feel,” Eccomi is the latest spot to touch down in Norwood. The all-day Italian bar and cucina comes from the mind of CIBO founder Roberto Cardone is a fresh spot to enjoy a drink.

Jewels of Thought Records
A new kind of record store has opened at Ebenezer Place, and it’s designed to be about far more than flipping through crates (although we love that too). Jewels of Thought Records is the latest venture from husband-and-wife team Anthony Wendt and Linh Tieu, bringing together high fidelity audio, pour over coffee and unique teas, natural wine, and Adelaide’s vibrant music scene. After all, Adelaide is Australia’s only UNESCO City of Music.

Higher Vision Spirits Bar
Higher Vision Spirits Bar, is the newest late-night arrival to Hindley Street, and one of the venues aiming to revive Adelaide’s nightlife scene. An extension of Higher Vision Spirits, a tools-down, distillery at Roxby Downs, that flies in the face of tradition to create down-to-earth, easy-going drinks. After working across regional areas for years, the move to Hindley Street marks a new purpose shift and higher visibility.

Kohko Beach Bar
Born from sun-drenched summers on the Greek island of Kos, KOHKO Beach Bar is bringing a slice of Mediterranean magic to South Australia’s coastline, with its first-ever Australian beach club residency landing at Silver Sands Beach this summer.

Over the last few months, Semaphore’s beloved Palais Hotel has been quietly receiving a facelift. Now, just in time for summer, they’ve revealed their new look with a perfectly coastal, outdoor bar.

South Coast locals are in for a treat this summer, with the Goolwa Surf Life Saving Club announcing not one, but two new beachside offerings. Percy’s Cafe, Bar & Kitchen is opening upstairs in early to mid-December, and the Barefoot Bar, a relaxed, volunteer-run beachfront bar is already popping up on warm weekends.

Burdette
There’s really no better place to be on a balmy spring evening than Adelaide’s East End. It’s an unspoken truth. And now, the city’s most soulful pocket has a dangerous new addition.
Tucked just far enough down Union Street to feel like a secret, and pouring an absinthe drip that’ll have you by the cholkhold, Burdette is the intimate new speakeasy and social club by partners and industry pros Baine Stubbs and Saskia Lopes de Souza. And now, it’s open and ready to play.

Level Up
Sitting pretty on Hindley Street, Level Up is the city’s newest and ultimate late-night playground for adults, complete with games, drinks, and rooftop vibes.
Part arcade, part bar, part social spot, Level Up is bright and bold, designed entirely for fun. Kick off your night with something truly unique, what they’re calling ‘Australia’s first interactive mini golf experience’. Forget traditional putt-putt, at Level Up they’ve got a high-tech setup which combines real clubs, real balls, and cutting-edge digital projection for a next-gen version of the game.

The Laneway Social
The Laneway Social, formerly the Belgian Beer café, opened its doors yesterday with a new look and a mouth-watering new menu. Gone are the dark wood timbers of the Belgian Beer café, and everything has been re-tiled with light and bright furnishings and a whole lot of greenery.

Lola’s
Jonathan VDK
It’s not every day you walk into a wine bar and get instantly floored by the fit-out. Up until last month this Norwood address was East End Cellars, but you’d hardly recognise it now. Lola’s opened her doors this October. She’s sexy, feminine, and playful, but the design – with velvet curtains, marble benchtops and more shades of pink than you can count – sets her up as much more than a place for a daytime drink.

Jane’s Fault
Stepping into the space at 23 Peel Street, you’re met with a fit-out that could only be from someone with an eye for design. Officially opening this month, Jane’s Fault is the moody, impressionist-inspired brainchild of interior designer Jane K.

Bottoms Up

Mary’s Poppin has built its reputation on glitter, drag, and dancefloors that rarely draw breath. Since opening, the club has become one of Adelaide’s most recognisable nightlife spots, a hub of performance and queer celebration where the party always spills late into the night.
Now the colourful Rundle Street discotheque has added a new layer to its offering, with Bottoms Up opening this August.

Hellbound
After a fittingly devilish 6.66 years in Adelaide’s East End – and an eight-month hiatus with many scratching their heads – loved wine haunt Hellbound has re-emerged in Bowden. Owner and hospitality heavyweight Mark (Reggie) Reginato is fusing his passions, businesses, and Hellbound’s signature identity into one bold new space.
Located on the popular Hawker Street neighbouring Pizza Meccanica, the new spot is a hybrid space, equal parts neighbourhood hangout and alluring late-night den.

Honeydripper Hi-fi
While Honeydripper quietly opened its doors in the city, it has made a splash in popularity. Beating right in the city’s heart and pumping with potential, Honeydripper is a full-bodied experience built around exceptional sound, top-tier drinks, and that elusive energy only the special venues ever seem to capture.
