Former Dubai Exiles and UAE player Stephen Ferguson has launched a rugby and netball distribution company in Dubai with his wife, Deena.
Ferguson Sports will supply equipment and apparel to schools, clubs, academies and sporting events across the Middle East.
The company will focus on products from Gilbert Rugby and Gilbert Netball, with standard and customised options available for organisations across the region.
Ferguson has lived and worked in the UAE for 11 years. He played for City of Derry RFC in Northern Ireland before moving to Dubai and joining Dubai Exiles.
He went on to represent the UAE squad for the national team’s 2024 autumn international against Germany at The Sevens Stadium.
“Rugby has opened so many doors for me over the years, from the friendships I’ve made to the career opportunities it created. Starting Ferguson Sports felt like the right next step.”
Ferguson began his working career in sports distribution before moving into healthcare, where he spent several years in business development.
He has now returned to the sports industry with a company built around the two games he knows best.
“Rugby has opened so many doors for me over the years, from the friendships I’ve made to the career opportunities it created,” Ferguson said.
“Starting Ferguson Sports felt like the right next step. We wanted to build a business that genuinely supports schools, clubs, academies and events while helping grow rugby and netball across the region.”
The company’s focus on rugby and netball gives it a defined place in the UAE sports market, where schools and community clubs regularly require balls, posts, training equipment and team clothing.
Ferguson Sports is based in Dubai and will serve customers across the Middle East. Its rugby and netball product catalogues are available through the Ferguson Sports website.
