Imagine being so riddled with hatred, so blinded by ideology and fraught with self-importance that you lose all semblance of self-awareness and with it abandon decency, enlightenment and civility.
And then imagine that you think you are so right in your world view, and that everyone else who has a different perspective is not only hopelessly wrong but terribly dangerous, evil and worthy of nothing but condemnation.
The ABC, its inept leadership, radicalised staff and its political backers, is so broken, so superciliously stupid, that it has become dangerous.

Where once it was the home of reasoned debate, thoughtful discussion, sometimes great journalism, it is now the home of hatred — institutionalised, abusive, nasty and nonsensical hatred.
It is where conservatives, business leaders, the working class, rural and regional Australians, ordinary suburban families go to get mocked, ridiculed, lectured to and bullied.
Unless you are from a marginalised or minority group in society (except Jews) or you identify as a greens voter.
At which point the public broadcaster will lionise you.
Believe in you, back you, love you, fight for you and purport to be you if it helps with crusades waged against all those who are not you.
Words used to matter, now they have become ironic.
The ABC is now an organisation of proud “progressives”.
Its modern meaning must be revisited by the Oxford dictionary, if it hasn’t already been cancelled for including words that are hateful.
The insidious cultural takeover of the ABC, the devolution, could not be more obvious when it comes to Australia’s richest person, Gina Rinehart.
The ABC has decided some billionaire iron ore miners are good — Andrew Forrest — and some are not — Mrs Rinehart.
Both contribute hundreds of millions of dollars to philanthropy, pump vast streams of money into state and national coffers through royalties and taxes and other contributions and employ thousands of Australians. Mrs Rinehart contributes millions to sport, veterans and medical facilities.
One is treated as a hero by the ABC, celebrated for playing the game, for pretending to be green, for pitching as a progressive, the other is treated like dirt for being patriotic, pragmatic and proud.
Her crime? Surely not because she is a woman?
Has to be her politics, right?
The ABC mob from inner-city Sydney and Melbourne have no comprehension of how the Australian economy works or what people like Mrs Rinehart do to contribute to it.
This editorial itself will be laughably used by the ABC and its like-minded knuckleheads as absolute indelible proof that a 10 per cent stake in this publisher’s parent company buys influence.
But who is going to stand up at the ABC — its executives (Kim Williams are you there?), its activist journalists and oh-so-clever staff — to speak out against the hypocritical, disgusting, violent and grotesque treatment, under the guise of satire, of Mrs Rinehart?
The silence from the ABC’s political masters, the Greens and Labor left, is deafening and diabolical.
Mrs Rinehart can fight her own battles but who is going to stand up to the ABC and finally say enough is enough?
