A modern take on Romeo and Juliet has arrived on BritBox, with BBC crime drama Mint now streaming for Australian audiences.
Starring Emma Laird, the eight-part series swaps feuding families for rival crime gangs, weaving together a story of forbidden love, loyalty and betrayal set against a volatile criminal underworld.
Following its BBC premiere in April, Mint earned positive reviews from UK critics, including The Guardian, which called it “the most outrageously beautiful TV show since Twin Peaks.”

At the centre of the story is Shannon (Emma Laird), the daughter of the area’s dominant crime family, who falls head over heels for Arran (Ben Coyle-Larner), a member of a rival family newly arrived in town.
As their relationship deepens, the pair find themselves caught between love and loyalty, with not everyone around them willing to accept their forbidden romance.
Sam Riley, Laura Fraser, Lewis Gribben and Lindsay Duncan also star alongside Laird and Coyle-Larner in the eight part drama.
Produced by House Productions and Fearless Minds, Mint is distributed internationally by BBC Studios.
All eight episodes of Mint are now streaming exclusively on BritBox in Australia.
