Police detain rowdy sheeter Sreenivas Gowda under Goonda Act

Continuing its crackdown on habitual offenders and organised crime, the Bengaluru City Police have detained notorious rowdy sheeter Srinivas Gowda alias ‘Havali Seena’ (26) of the Hanumanthanagar Police Station limits under the Goonda Act and lodged him in Ballari Central Prison.

According to police, Srinivas Gowda is a habitual offender involved in multiple criminal activities and was known for disturbing public peace and tranquillity. The detention was executed by the Organised Crime Squad (East) of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) on Wednesday, as part of preventive measures to maintain law and order in the city.

Police said that as part of their ongoing drive against rowdy elements, 110 rowdy sheeters have been externed from Bengaluru city limits so far in 2026. In addition, action under the Karnataka Control of Organized Crimes Act (KCOCA), 2000, has been initiated against 34 members of five organised criminal gangs.
