The 2026/27 Isuzu UTE A-League season will kick off with the Sydney Derby for the first-time ever, with the Matchweek 1 fixtures revealed exclusively today across the official A-Leagues app.
The 2026/27 season will kick off on Friday 16 October with marquee matches headlining Matchweek 1 as well as the opening few weeks of the season, as the countdown begins for another memorable Isuzu UTE A-League campaign.
Commenting on the first few matchweeks of the new campaign, Steve Rosich, APL CEO said: “The countdown has begun for the 2026/27 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
“Marquee matches will headline the opening matchweeks, as we look to build on last season where we welcomed more than 1.6 million fans across Australia and New Zealand, and leverage the hype from the FIFA Men’s World Cup.”
“For the first-time ever, the Sydney Derby will open the season with Sydney FC taking on the Western Sydney Wanderers on Friday 16 October at Allianz Stadium.”
“Fans can get a sneak-peak of all of the Matchweek 1 fixtures via the Official A-Leagues App, while the full Isuzu UTE A-League 2026/27 fixture will be released tomorrow (Thursday) morning.”
The A-League will also recognise its most dedicated fans during Membership Week starting on Monday 20 July. The initiative will reward its most passionate fans with a range of competitions and prizes as a show of thanks to members for their ongoing commitment to their favourite club ahead of the upcoming season.
Commenting on the fixture release, Steve Rosich added: “We wanted to release the Isuzu UTE A-League Men 2026/27 fixture earlier than ever, to give Clubs, partners and fans more time to plan and prepare for next season.”
“The Isuzu UTE A-League Men 2026/27 season will continue to be a 12-team competition, and will not include Western United.”
“We continue to be in regular communication with Western United, with the Club’s ongoing position within the league dependent on the outcomes of the financial, governance and operational aspects they’ll work through over the coming months.”
