Police are investigating whether hooning was involved in the death of a man who was struck and killed in a hit-and-run south of Brisbane.
Emergency crews raced to Middle Rd in Greenbank after reports a man had been hit by a car about 8.45pm on Monday.
The 20-year-old man was critically injured, with friends rushing to his aid before paramedics arrived. He could not be saved and was declared dead.

Police said the car that hit the man had allegedly fled the scene.
“It’s very concerning,” Detective Inspector Ian Galpin said.
“It’s extremely difficult for family and friends to be confronted with.
“It’s also difficult for someone to live with this on their conscience, so we encourage anyone with information to contact police.”
Galpin said police have been interviewing multiple witnesses from the scene to determine what had happened.
He also said police would be considering if hooning had been involved in the man’s death.
“QPS certainly acknowledges the communities concerns around hooning” Galpin said, adding that the activity “undermines community safety”.
A black Ford Falcon was seized. Galpin confirmed the vehicle had no registration and is now the subject of a forensic examination.
Police said they are also wanting to talk to the occupants of a white Toyota Landcruiser and a dark coloured ute that were seen in the area at the time of the incident.
Anyone who may have relevant dashcam, mobile phone camera footage or CCTV of the incident has been urged to contact police.
