Cristiano Ronaldo has made history again. By netting twice in Portugal’s 5-0 victory against Uzbekistan, he became the first player to score in six different editions of the FIFA World Cup™.
With this achievement, he has separated himself from Lionel Messi in this regard; before this match, he and the Argentinian shared the record of five editions.
The Portugual No7 also reached the 10-goal mark overall, surpassing the late Eusebio (with nine) on Portugal’s all-time World Cup scoring list.
At 41 years and 138 days old, Ronaldo also moved into second place on the list of the oldest players to score a goal in a World Cup; he trails only Roger Milla (42 years and 39 days).
