Kayo Sports and Fox League will give sports fans an inside look at the storied career of an Australian rugby league icon, with “Gorden Tallis – The Raging Bull” set to premiere on Sunday, July 5.
Tallis, whose accolades include the NRL and Brisbane Broncos Hall of Fame, 3 x Premiership winner, Clive Churchill Medallist, Queensland State of Origin and Australian International Captain, Indigenous Team of the Century and NRL Team of the 1990s, played 266 NRL games, seven State of Origin series and earned 36 caps for Australia before retiring in 2004.
“Gorden Tallis – The Raging Bull” will premiere on Sunday, July 5 straight after Sunday Night with Matty Johns and will cover the highs and lows of his entire playing career.
The documentary will follow him home to Townsville for The Gorden Tallis Cup, an annual rugby league carnival that has been running for over 25 years and features over 80 junior teams and more than 1200 players from all over Queensland.
Tallis, now a commentator with Fox League and co-host of NRL360, said:
“As I get older, the memories fade but I’ll never forget where I came from.”
“I used to tell my mum I was going to play for Australia. But I never believed it. If I go back through my career and why I made it, I think it’s the belief that other people put in me.”
“I’d have never had my career without Rod Reddy, Brian Smith, Wayne Bennett. Your teammates and the people around you make you who you are. One million percent.”
Steve Crawley, Managing Director, Fox Sports, said:
“We’ve always known Gorden Tallis is an amazing character, what we have now learnt is how amazing. An incredible insight.”
