Perth Glory sign attacker Henry Hore on two-year deal: A-Leagues

Perth Glory’s off-season recruitment drive shows no signs of slowing down, with confirmation the club has signed Henry Hore on a two-year deal.

Now 26, Hore spent several years in the Perth Glory academy as a teenager before departing in 2019 for a move back to Queensland.

The attacker joined Brisbane Roar in 2021 and went on to chalk up over 100 appearances for his hometown club in all competitions, scoring an impressive 20 goals in the process.

Hore also gained valuable overseas experience whilst on the books of Brisbane Roar, spending six months on loan at Korean side Gangwon FC before reaturning to Queensland for the second half of the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League season.

“To be returning is really special,” said Hore, after his two-year deal was made official by the club. “I do feel that I have some unfinished business.

“I kind of did my apprenticeship here and made some great memories and really good lifelong friends.

“It’s great to be back and exciting to see what [Head Coach] Adam Griffiths and [Football Director] Stan Lazaridis are building in terms of the squad.

“HBF Park is one of the best stadiums in the league, I’ve always loved playing there and I can’t wait to be part of the home team there with the fans behind me.

“I’m super-excited for that and to help bring success and silverware back to the club.”

Lazaridis, meanwhile, believes that Hore is an excellent pick-up for the club.

“We’ve been searching for a versatile, left-sided player for some time and Henry certainly fits the bill,” he said.

“He’s technical, can play as an inverted winger, out wide, or as a ten and as his record over the last few seasons shows, also has an eye for goal.

“He’s no stranger to the club or the city, he really suits the style of football that Griff wants to play and I’m delighted that we managed to get him on board.”

Hore becomes Perth’s fourth signing of the off-season following in the footsteps of former Brisbane Roar teammate Matthew Dench and ex-Newcastle Jets youngster Lucas Scicluna.

The club also pulled off somewhat of a transfer coup after it was confirming they’d captured former Western Sydney Wanderers midfielder Calem Nieuwenhof on a season-long loan from Scottish Premiership side Hearts.
