Newcastle Jets have confirmed Premiership winning captain Kosta Grozos has left the club following the expiration of his contract.
Grozos made 20 appearances in what would prove to be an historic season for the Jets as they went on to clinch the Premiers Plate – the first in club history.
25-year-old Grozos joined the Newcastle Jets ahead of the 2021-22 Isuzu UTE A-League season after his departure from the Western Sydney Wanderers and went on to make 125 appearances for the club.

Ahead of the 2024-25 season, Grozos was named captain of the Newcastle Jets side by then head coach Rob Stanton, a move that saw him becoming the club’s youngest ever permanent skipper.
Under his captaincy Newcastle lifted both the Australia Cup and Premiers Plate, both for the first time.
“On behalf of the Club, I want to thank Kosta for everything he has given to the Newcastle Jets over the past five seasons,” said General Manager of Football Nigel Boogaard.

“Kosta has grown with this club, taken on real responsibility, and represented Newcastle with pride every time he has stepped onto the pitch.
“To captain the team at such a young age is a significant achievement, and to then lead the club to its first Australia Cup and Premiers Plate speaks to the impact he has had during his time here.
“Kosta leaves the Club with our full respect and appreciation, and we wish him every success in the next chapter of his career.”
