Why Johnny Manziel still roots for 0-16 seasons for Cleveland

Time does not heal all wounds, especially when it comes to Johnny Manziel and the Cleveland Browns. The former first-round draft pick has officially let the world know that he still carries massive animosity toward the franchise that drafted him, and he has no intention of letting it go.

During a recent raw, unfiltered segment, the former Texas A&M University standout and 2012 Heisman Trophy winner opened up about his feelings regarding his old squad on an episode of The Night Cap.

“I sit here today and I go back on forth, am I going to let Cleveland off the hook, let it go or am I going to sit here with hate and animosity in my heart for the rest of my life,” Manziel admitted. “I finally sit here today and I’m like f*ck it I think I’m gonna be pissed at them and hate them forever. It is what it is man, no love for the Browns.”

Manziel made it clear that his disdain translates directly to how he watches NFL Sundays. He isn’t hoping for a quiet Cleveland rebuilding era; he wants total historic failure.

“I’m rooting for 0-16 seasons every season,” Manziel stated bluntly.

Cleveland drafted “Johnny Football” with the 22nd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, hoping he would solve the team’s quarterback woes. Instead, off-field issues and inconsistent play cut his professional run short. Over his two-year career with the Browns, Manziel appeared in 14 games, logging eight starts. He threw for 1,675 yards, seven touchdowns, and seven interceptions while posting a 74.4 passer rating.

The Browns actually lived through an infamous 0-16 campaign back in 2017, just two seasons after cutting ties with the quarterback. If Manziel gets his wish, the Dawg Pound will have to suffer through many more winless years.
