Sheehan said the man had sustained “very serious injuries”.

He confirmed a large metal pole recovered from the scene had been taken by forensic crews.

Sheehan said the 29-year-old woman has since been charged with hindering a police investigation, however, the 31-year-old man is continuing to assist police with their investigation.

“It sounded like a fight,” she said.

“It’s a little bit surreal, it’s usually a quiet street.”

Crime scenes have been established at both locations and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident has commenced, police said.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
