Man dies by suicide inside women’s coach of Danapur–Pune train

A man allegedly died by suicide inside the women’s coach of the Danapur–Pune Special Train, triggering panic at Danapur railway station after his body was discovered during a routine inspection.

The incident came to light after the Danapur–Pune Special Train arrived at the platform and teams from the Coaching and Wagon (C&W) department and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) began inspecting the coaches as part of regular checks. During the inspection, railway personnel found the door of the women’s coach locked from inside.

Suspecting something unusual, the staff opened the door and found a young man hanging from the upper luggage rack with the help of a belt. According to railway officials, the youth had allegedly died by suicide.

Following the discovery, railway authorities, the RPF and local police rushed to the spot. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was also called in to assist with the investigation.

Preliminary findings suggest that the deceased was between 25 and 30 years old. GRPF Danapur in-charge Ajay Kumar said no identity card was recovered from the youth, making it difficult to establish his identity. He also noted that the deceased was not wearing slippers.

Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and launched an investigation into all aspects of the case. Authorities are trying to ascertain the identity of the deceased and determine the circumstances that led to the alleged suicide.
