Two teenage girls are facing multiple charges after police stopped a vehicle in Dorchester Tuesday and allegedly recovered two loaded firearms, a knife, and drugs, authorities said.
Officers initially conducted a query on a vehicle without an inspection sticker near Columbia Road before stopping it near 653 Blue Hill Ave. around 12:40 a.m., according to a statement from the Boston Police Department.
As officers approached the vehicle carrying four people, the front passenger concealed his face with a ski mask while “guarding” a fanny park with his arm and avoiding eye contact, police said.
After ordering the occupants out of the vehicle, officers searched the fanny pack and recovered a large hunting knife, according to police. Authorities also reportedly found a second fanny pack inside the vehicle containing a ghost gun loaded with 18 rounds of ammunition.
Officers additionally recovered a plastic bag from the fanny pack that contained a substance believed to be cocaine, police said.
A 16-year-old girl from Taunton was arrested at the scene. Her identity has not been released due to her age.
Police also arrested Jacqueline Rose Botelho, 18, of Fall River, after officers allegedly discovered a loaded Smith & Wesson SD40VE firearm concealed in her undergarments during the stop. The firearm contained 11 rounds of ammunition, police said.
During booking, authorities reported recovering two more plastic bags containing a substance believed to be cocaine inside one of the suspect’s socks.
Both Botelho and the 16-year-old are charged with carrying a loaded firearm without a license, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, possession of a large capacity feeding device, and possession of Class B drugs.
They were arraigned in the Dorchester Division of the Boston Municipal Court.
Court records show Botelho pleaded not guilty to all charges and is being held at Suffolk County Jail. Her next court appearance is scheduled for June 22 at 9 a.m.
Because of her age, the outcome of the 16-year-old’s arraignment will not be released at this time, according to a court spokesperson.
The vehicle’s front passenger was issued a summons on charges of carrying a dangerous weapon and possession of Class D drugs, police said.
