The Rookie is finally heading back to Seven, with John Nolan and the LAPD crew going international for the drama’s biggest storyline yet.
Fresh from wrapping its US run earlier this month, the eighth season sends the team to Prague for a high stakes mission, while major relationship and career shakeups unfold back home in Los Angeles.
The new season sees John Nolan working alongside Nyla Harper, Bailey Nune and FBI agent Matt Garza as they track down terrorists operating across the United States and Europe, with returning villain Monica Stevens playing a key role in the dangerous overseas mission.

Fan favourite couple Lucy Chen and Tim Bradford also take a major step in their relationship by moving in together, while Sergeant Wade Grey faces fresh pressure after being offered the chance to lead a new joint taskforce.

Back at home, Nolan is forced to confront some major personal questions when Bailey receives a career opportunity in Washington, D.C., leaving him weighing up whether he would restart his career for their future together.
Season eight marks one of the series’ biggest creative swings to date, shifting part of the action overseas after years of largely Los Angeles based storylines. The latest 18 episode run premiered on ABC in the United States back in January before wrapping earlier this month.
The Rookie remained a strong performer for Seven and 7plus across its seventh season, reportedly pulling more than 6.9 million viewers nationally across Total TV and continuing to rank among the broadcaster’s most streamed imported dramas, despite airing several months behind the U.S. rollout.
Created by Alexi Hawley and produced by Lionsgate Television in partnership with 20th Television for ABC (U.S), the long running procedural has now passed 140 episodes across its eight season run.
The Rookie returns Monday, 8 June, streaming from 6.00pm on 7plus and airing 9.00pm on Seven.
