Adelaide is heading into a cooler, cloudier stretch, with the city’s settled Friday giving way to a wetter change across the weekend and a run of showery days into next week.
For today, Adelaide is expected to become cloudy with a top of 20 degrees, after a calm start under light winds. Northerly breezes will build slightly through the morning before easing again, and while rain isn’t likely for the metro area today, the more noticeable change is the shift away from the clearer weather many parts of South Australia have enjoyed.
Saturday stays fairly mild, with a top of 21 degrees and partly cloudy skies, but there is a slight chance of a shower as the next weather system edges closer.
The bigger change arrives on Sunday, when Adelaide is forecast to turn properly wet and cool. Showers are likely through the day, with an 80 per cent chance of rain and up to 6mm possible, while temperatures drop to a top of just 18 degrees. Winds will swing around during the day, starting from the north to northeasterly, then shifting west to northwesterly before turning south to southeasterly in the afternoon. That change will make it feel noticeably colder by evening.
Monday looks similar, with a shower or two still around and another chilly top of 18 degrees. Southerly winds will freshen during the morning before easing later in the day. The showery pattern is then expected to linger across Adelaide for much of next week.
Tuesday will be partly cloudy with a medium chance of showers and a top of 19 degrees, followed by Wednesday with another shower or two possible and the temperature again reaching 19 degrees.
By Thursday, conditions remain partly cloudy with only a possible shower, and Adelaide should hold steady at around 19 degrees.
