Eagles
We hit our next offseason milestone. If I had to explain it to someone who doesn’t understand football, it’s like owning a Where’s Waldo book versus solving the book. We’ve known who we’re playing (Waldo is in the book) but now we know exactly where, when, and the time. Including a pic to see if you can find Waldo (definitely not a trick to try and increase time spent on the site). We’ll break down the first five games and give some insight to how they might play out.
Honestly trying to guess games, especially later in the season when injuries and rookies’ worth start popping up. Sure I could go through every game and give a prediction but that’s based on the current roster. Also, free tip to anyone who wants to sound smart guessing record, just say 11-6. That’s the record of a solid team that should make the playoffs and doesn’t sound like too much of a homer.
Week 1: Eagles vs Commanders
The Eagles start the season at home versus the Washington Commanders. They’re going to be a bit of a wildcard (no pun intended) going into the season. Last season was a throwaway season for them due to Jayden Daniel’s being hurt. Still, first game every team believes they’re going to compete better than the last year. Not to mention it is a divisional game. Luckily they have Josh Harris as the owner so expect their roster construction to be half baked.
Week 2: Eagles at Titans
It’s a similar situation to the Commanders, young team starting the season with all their hopes and dreams intact. The Titans feel like Cam Ward is ready to take a leap and justify being the franchise QB. That unfortunately is going to make them scrappy. While the Eagles have a better roster construction, we don’t play games on paper. If we did there’d be no reason to play the games and who wants to live in a world with no football games?
Week 3: Eagles at Bears (Monday Night Football)
First prime time game of the season. It comes against a rapidly improving Bears team. You might remember last season when the Eagles lost to the Bears in prime time. If you don’t, due to repressing it or that you’d given up on the season, it might’ve been the worst loss of the year. Easiest stat to highlight this was 47 rushes for 281 yards and two touchdowns. Not great for a squad that was always touted their defense. The Eagles will look to get their revenge in Chicago.
Week 4: Eagles vs Rams
Off short rest the Eagles will host the Los Angeles Rams. Not great prep for a team playing the former MVP Matt Stafford. The Rams also went to the NFC Championship game. While the Eagles have had success against them as of late, they’ve been narrow victories. Not like you can consistently plan on a massive snow storm or a late blocked field goal returned for a touchdown. That said I’m still going to include links from those because this post has been negative and we need some positivity.
Week 5: Eagles “at” Jaguars (London Game)
The London game, hence the quotes over at. Everybody’s favorite game as long as it doesn’t involve their team. The thought of having football start at 930 AM EST is awesome. Unfortunately, it comes with the team having to travel overseas and play during a strange internal clock time. The Jags also have more experience playing in London. Playing in London is like a weather game, teams don’t play there most consistent game.
As you read, there’s a lot of interesting matchups to start the season. The entire schedule is fairly brutal for the Eagles. Considering they come back from London and have to play another game the following Sunday. Most of the divisional games are early in the season. This means winning the NFC East will be harder since the Eagles can’t pick up games when the season is ending. We’ll get to the rest of the games later in the season as the team takes shape. Until then, Go Birds!
